Ray: Amaury tell us what
Mr. 3000
is all about?

Amaury:
It’s a great movie
about baseball, in which
Stan Ross (Bernie Mac)
finds out after many years
that he didn’t quite
reached the 3,000 hits he
though he did in his
younger years. He returns
at an older age to pursue
his record.
Ray: What’s the name
of the character you play?

Amaury: I play a
Puertorrican baseball
player, Jorge Minadeo, 2nd
baseman.
Ray: How did you go
about preparing for the
role?

Amaury: Well first of all,
being Puertorrican, you
have to know baseball.
It’s our #1 sport. I grew
up watching and playing
baseball. Puerto Rico has
created a lot of amazing
baseball players, among
the extensive list we can
find Roberto Alomar, Ivan
Rodriguez, Igor Gonzalez,
Bernie Williams, Peruchin
Cepeda and of course our
hero the late Roberto
Clemente. Playing his
character in a movie about
him would become a dream
come true. Other than that
we had a month of
extensive training before
shooting started. We
wanted to look as close to
the real thing as
possible.
Ray: What are your
goals for this year?

Amaury:
Well after being
considered by the
USA today to be one of the
26 young men to watch in
2004, the pressure is on.
Basically my goals are to
be ahead than I was the
year before this one. More
roles in which I can show
my chops.
Ray: I know you lived
in New York for three
years. How is life in
L.A.?

Amaury: Very Good , thank
God. It took me about a
year to get use to LA, now
I love it. It’s home.
Ray: Your family are
they still living is
Puerto Rico?

Amaury: Yes, my
family is still lives in
Puerto Rico. They are very
strong supported of my
career.
Ray: I heard that you were
rank as one of the top 26
Latin Entertainers to
watch out for is this
true? I heard it from
Tim you know Tim..
Amaury: Yes and Yes. Ha,ha,ha,ha. But it was
not just in the Latin
world, but mainstream. I
was in the list among
Ashton Kutcher, Justin
Timberlake, Jake Gyllena. It was really
surprising and I was
honored to be in this list
of people.
Ray: When you are not on
set how do you spend your
time?
Amaury: I study. I go to
acting school. It’s like
going to the gym, you have
to keep training. Be ready
for that next role.
Ray: How many years have
you been acting?
Amaury:
Professionally
only 5 years. But all
together with acting
school, about 10 years.
Ray: What other languages
do you speak?
Amaury: Espanol!!!
Ray: What is your favorite
curse word in Spanish?
Amaury: I really bad one.
“Puneta”, sorry!!!
Ray: Everyone comes to
Hollywood to make it. What
is your advice to those
who want to make it?
Amaury: Patience and
Perseverance. It’ll
happen. Just don’t stop
believing. (Meanwhile keep bartending) ha,ha,ha. You
got to pay the bills.
Ray: Thanks Amaury. I
hope someday we will work
on a film together.
Amaury: My pleasure. Keep
up the good work. We are
going places.
Ray: Hey Bro can
